Good lather provides a protective layer, moisture, and lubrication, and lifts coarse hairs. It’s a must. You get good lather by using a high quality shaving cream, like Bevel, a shave brush, and the right ratio of cream to water.
To get the right amount of water, we suggest letting your brush soak in warm water for at least 20 seconds and then giving it just one strong flick to remove excess water.
From here, add a flat nickel sized amount of cream to your brush. Now work it into your skin in strong circular motions. Keep whipping for a bit and it will be a nice foam in no time. If you see a lot of air bubbles, you’ve got too much water (or too little cream).
If it’s too thick, dry, or pasty, you’ve got too much cream (or too little water). No worries, you’ll have this down after a few shaves.
